Henry Cecil’s three-time Group One winner Twice Over will return to action in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 14.
Now a six-year-old, he disappointed in the Dubai World Cup for the second successive season at Meydan in March.
He finished third to Virtual in the 2009 renewal of the Lockinge but is a different proposition on home soil these days.
“Twice Over is very well and is going to run in the Lockinge. He’s very adaptable and this year he seems to have improved with age,” Cecil said.
Champion mare Midday could have a tilt at the Coronation Cup in June, but promising stayer Manifest may have run his last race.
“Midday may come back at York (Middleton Stakes) and there’s every chance she may go to the Coronation Cup,” Cecil added.
“She’ll be in the Hardwicke, and races like the Nassau, Yorkshire Oaks and Vermeille, so we’ll feel our way.
“Manifest had a pretty serious setback and whether we see him again is another thing.”
Jacqueline Quest lost the 1000 Guineas in the stewards’ room last year, and she may run at Goodwood this weekend.
“She is very well, she’s just coming to herself and I’d like to get her out and find a race somewhere but I won’t run her unless the ground is good,” the Warren Place handler said.
